MACFIS UK is proud to invite all Malaysian students to take part in our annual grand competition, MACFIS University Challenge 2010. The objective of this competition is to give a chance to the participants to be engaged in intellectually stimulating quiz that tested their general knowledge and common sense.  Questions are both Malaysia- and international-based, relating to Sports, Entertainment, Science & Technology, and General Knowledge.

Time : 9.00 a.m to 3.00 p.m

Unlike our past University Challenge, this time we would introduce 2 categories in this competition.

1)      Individual Competition ( open to the public)

2)      Team Competition ( University )

Rules & Regulations

1. Only 3 contestants are allowed from each participating university.
2. The competition is open to the first 8 teams who have succesfully registered with the organizers.
3. Organizers are not allowed to participate in the challenge.
4. This University Challenge is open to all Malaysian undergraduate students who are currently studying in the United Kingdom.
5. Quiz Categories: Entertainment, Arts, Culture, Sports, History & Geography, Science and Technology, Current Affairs and General Knowledge.
6. Questions will be both Malaysia and international based.
7. Due to the nature of knowledge, some questions will belong to more than one category. This is unavoidable and contestants are asked to be aware of this.
8. The decision of the quiz master is final.

Quiz Proceedings (To be finalized)

The quiz is divided into two stages.

First stage

• Multiple choice questions
• No conferring allowed
• Each team member will be asked to choose a category, from where a question will be asked. A correct answer will be awarded 10 points.
• If the question is answered incorrectly by the participant, it is opened to the other members of the team. A correct answer at this stage will be awarded 5 points.

Second stage

• Open-ended answers
• Conferring is allowed
• Questions from any category will be asked. Any member of the team may answer. A correct answer will yield 10 points.
• In the event that an answer is incorrect, it will be opened to other members of the floor. At this stage, a correct answer will yield 5 points.
• If participants raise their hands before the quizmaster finishes asking the question and answers incorrectly, 5 points will be deducted.
